I figured there could just be a thread that puts both of these awesome things together.

What anime are you watching? What manga (or light novel) are you reading? Have any suggestions? Looking for something new? Post or ask here!

I started watching Soul Eater on Netflix. I am not too far, but I like it so far.

I just finished reading Ore no Imōto ga Konna ni Kawaii Wake ga Nai (My Little Sister Can't Be This Cute). It's still on going. I wish I could read the light novels (since both the anime and manga is based off of it), but considering I cannot read Japanese very well that will not be happening unless it gets translated. (I know Dark Horsed picked it up. I cannot remember if it was the light novel or the anime. I will have to go check.)

Since I finished that, I started reading the K-On! manga. I loved the anime so why not read the manga? I am also reading School Rumble.

I do not know if anyone has one of these, but it could be a really nice way for everyone to get suggestions on different anime and manga. Here is mine: http://www.anime-planet.com/users/hiicatc

im real picky when it comes to animie. Either i am sucked in by the first episode/issue or it's not worth my time. i am always looking for new series to get into but, like i said im picky.

I'm trying to catch up to weekly shonen jump. About to be caught up on Bakuman which sometimes I enjoy. I finished downloading Toriko and moved it over to my ipad. I'm excited to start that once I finish Bakuman.

I also want to start reading Pluto by Naoki Urasawa. Pluto is a retelling of The Greatest Robot on Earth story arc from Astroboy. Urasawa also did 20th Centurty Boys and Monster(the anime is on Netflix or Hulu can't remember). Both Monster and 20th were amazing. Plus I enjoy his art style so anything by him I eat up.

I watched a couple episodes of Toriko and I thought it was hilarious. I might have to delve back into that one.

Saw Deadman Wonderland on Toonami. It's pretty damn good. I was like damn, their showing this on Cartoon Network? It's the kind of thing they might show on IFC, you know if IFC didn't stop showing anime. It kinda reminded me of stuff I've heard & clips I've seen of Riki-Oh, except instead of a martial artist with great power in jail its some little kid with hidden powers in a Jail/Amusement Park. I think I'm going to like this show.

Casshern Sins? So far, meh. Good background noise.

this! Deadman Wonderland did a great job of sucking me in, i wont bother continuing watching a series unless it does this to me. Chashern Sins didnt provide enough information about that universe to keep me interested.what was with the dude in the cloak? i also had moments where i was like "wait wasn't that robot just there? how is that clunky thing suddenly behind them?"

It's the Manga Entertainment App. It's just anime.

It's the Manga Entertainment App. It's just anime.

I thought it was just anime, but I wasn't sure. I have not looked at it and I couldn't think of any way to make reading manga on tv fun.

alright, so after watching Deadman Wonderland on Toonami last Saturday, i started watching the English subs online. ddduuudddeee.... i love this show! it is exactly to my tastes. now im even more excited about the next episode on Toonami, even though i've seen the first season already. mainly cause if a show is good enough i can watch it repeatedly and never get bored watching it. also cause there were no English dubs online lol.

I'm disappointed that they aren't showing Durarara!! on Toonami. I loved that show.

I got volume 10 of School Rumble in the mail a couple days ago. Now I have 1-11. I just need 12, 13, and the 14/15/16 omnibus. I sure wish they finished the official translation of School Rumble so I could completely my collection.

So Anime Expo was totally awesome! Lounge 21 was awesome on friday, wish I went on sunday instead of wasting time in an autograph line that was capped that I would easily go to the next day.
There were only 2 things wrong with AX: The Fiction Junction concert was 40min late (though totally off the hook) & the Total eclipse premier that they had hyped for days was over an hour late & turned out to be a pretty average anime. Great animation quality, but I've seen this type of show before done better (Giant robots, hot chicks, aliens, gore). It was Gundam 00 with a twist of Gintama, a dash of Gantz & a splash of Strike Witches.
Freezing, Blue Gender, Evangelion, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040, Eureka...the list goes on.
Got some good swag & bought some stuff. Will be going next year
